Over the last six years, Houston has dramatically improved its GSR with an 18-percent increase among its graduating student-athletes. The NCAA’s report reflects a four-year average of freshman who enrolled in 2009-10 through 2012-13.
“Once again, we’re very proud of the continued academic success and the progress that our teams have made,” Vice President for Athletics Chris Pezman said. "The commitment of our student-athletes to finish their degree prepares them for a life beyond athletics and gives each one a chance to set themselves up for future success.
“We’re excited to have another record Graduation Success Rate and the credit goes to our academics staff and coaches for making a commitment to support our student-athletes during the journey at the University of Houston.”
Houston’s baseball, men’s golf, women’s golf, women’s tennis and volleyball teams all posted four-year GSR rates over 90 percent.
