Houston Names Daniel Bickett Assistant Coach

Looks like Santiago Lobello didn’t last long as he was hired in April. Think he went to TCU.

“We are really excited to have Daniel join the Cougar family,” Steinbock said. “He has a wealth of experience and knowledge that he brings to the table, and I know he will make an immediate impact.”

A 2010 graduate of UW-Whitewater, Bickett began his coaching career as an assistant at his alma mater. At Wisconsin-Whitewater, Bickett helped lead the Warhawks to six consecutive NCAA Tournament berths, while helping the women’s team to a 46-match winning streak and six straight conference championships.

While at Wisconsin-Whitewater, Bickett was twice honored as the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s Division III National Assistant Coach of the Year, claiming the honor in 2010 for his work with the women’s team, and again in 2013 with the men’s team.

Following his stint with the Warhawks, Bickett spent one season as the men’s and women’s coach at UW-Green Bay. During the 2015-16 season, Bickett led the Phoenix men to a 13-7 overall record and a 5-1 mark in Horizon League play before moving on to Wisconsin.

With the Badgers in 2016-17, Bickett was part of one of the most successful squads in program history. He helped lead UW to their eighth-best win total ever at 18-8, which booked Wisconsin an NCAA Tournament berth that saw the team advance to the second round for just the fourth time in school history.
