Leadoff walk, groundout moves the runner to 2nd. Double ties the game, but the runner is out trying to go to 3rd…Tied 1-1

That’s it for Bond as Ron Brown comes in to pitch.

Brown ends the inning with a K.

M8…Tied 1-1

Was he slated to pitch this year?

He had pitched in the summer and had pitched in high school. I guess he looked good enough that they moved him over.

Gets the K to end the inning, sounds good to me!

So do the Coogs try to score here, or just wait till the bottom of the ninth again?

Looks like they’ll wait until the 9th

Give up a 2 out walk, but otherwise has no issues.

Davis with a single off the warning track in left to leadoff. Etzel to pinch run, Padgett to pinch hit. Padgett sac bunt moves Etzel to 2nd. Minter is intentionally walked. Champion on to pinch hit. Champion Ks. Brings up Burckel. Wild pitch moves both runners up. Burckel Ks and they head to extra innings

Henry gets 2 quick outs, but an error on Hyland ends his day.

Tristen Bayless on to pitch.

And then a throwing error on Triolo allows another runner. Walk loads the bases. Bayless hits the next batter, but he doesn’t move out of the way and strikes out instead. Hitter and manager for NSU have been tossed.

Clay Aguilar makes his return.

1 out homer gives NSU the lead…NSU leads 2-1

M11…NSU leads 2-1

We ran ourselves out of more runs and the possible W in the 2nd inning. Hey coach, watch video of the UH vs SJ St game in 2001 when we should have won that game and on to the CWS with a great team. Ran ourselves out of a victory early in that game when we had the pitcher on his heels.

Triolo leads off with a single. Esau flies out. Padgett single to right, Triolo to 3rd. McMillan on to pinch run for Padgett. Groundout to the pitcher, McMillan to 2nd. 2nd/3rd with 2 outs, Rey Fuentes pinch hitting. Flyout ends it.

Coogs fall 2-1

Sounds like we need to work on our hitting. Otherwise, solid weekend against a solid team.
