Thanks for the recaps, I appreciate it, at times only way I can follow the games. Tough weekend, 0-3, but all ranked opponents so they know where they’ve got to get to. What caught my attention on broadcast was that of current roster, Joe Davis has 23 career HR. The next closest was Hollis, iirc, with 3.
No problem, I enjoy doing them.
We definitely have a lack of established power this year.
Strangely, I thought the bats had some bright moments this weekend as the guys made solid contact in every game. They were squaring up on Kentucky’s pitcher and had the most success of any team against him this season. Last night against Vandy, we had 12 hits and at least 3 more that we’re robbed by the RF on great plays; all of which would have led to multiple runs and changed the complexion of the game.
The one that gets you is the MSU game as the Coogs should have won. Too many mental mistakes cost us that one and cost us a chance to walk away 1-2 on the weekend.
But, you’re right, we just have to accept that this team isn’t where it needs to be right now. Doesn’t mean it can’t get there as Whitting’s teams often make a run later in the season.
We never seem to do well at Minute Maid. Also bonehead coaching on suicide squeeze against Miss St.
