Does anyone know why the games are not played on iheart radio?
Doesn’t that depend on if a particular station that does broadcast the game is part of iheart radio to begin with? Not all are.
This is all from an OOTC perspective, no local Houston radio.
The tune in app is the best place I’ve found to listen to games. Look for the ING Houston network. Pre and post game is on there as well as most mens basketball games.
The iheart site for kprc plays the Wednesday coaches show live but I haven’t found anywhere that plays replays of it. You can also get kprc on the iheart app.
It is on Amazon Prime Video too.
Has to do with licensing. Sports teams and colleges are behind the times in that regards. They want to charge for audio streaming as a premium, instead of giving it away like radio. It is silly. Hope they change in the future.
You are correct. It is about licensing. You can’t hear the Astros or the Rockets on Iheart radio either. Not to mention the radio commercials…
