“I cannot say enough how excited we are to have Alex join our program,” Dismuke said. “He has a lot of physical presence and has continued to develop his game through the years. Alex has been taught by some of the best coaches in the country in (McLennan College Head Coach) Vince Clark and Randy Smith.”

During the 2017-18 season at McLennan College, Isakson ranked No. 3 in the nation individually and finished second at the National Junior College Athletic Association National Preview with a score of 7-under 209. He finished the fall with a 71.00 scoring average and was recognized as the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week for Oct. 24, 2017.

As a freshman in 2016-17, Isakson helped lead the Highlanders to a fifth-place finish at the NJCAA National Championships. The team also earned Top-5 finishes at the Region V, District 2 and Southwest Championships. He competed in 11 tournaments with five Top-20 finishes.

Before entering the collegiate ranks, Isakson was an award-winning prep star at Argyle High School in Argyle, Texas. Competing for Head Coach Brady Bell, he was a three-time All-State selection in 2014, 2015 and 2016 and helped lead the Eagles to back-to-back Class 4A state championships in 2015 and 2016.

He was ranked No. 1 in the state as a senior and was a member of the National Honor Society and Honor Roll.

Isakson became the third signee for the Cougars this season. He joined Christopher Chomyn (Irvine High School, Irvine, Calif.) and Braxton Watkins (Pleasant Grove High School, Texarkana, Texas), who signed in November.
