“I had an opportunity maybe 10 years ago to go elsewhere, and there have been some jobs that have opened up,” Burrell said. “But I’m not one to go applying for jobs or anything like that. Unfortunately, that’s one of the things you have to do in track and field. I’m not applying for anything.
“I don’t wake up in the morning or start a week or begin a year or season thinking I’ve got to perform well and get another job. I wake up trying to make this the best situation I can make it, because I feel like that’s my responsibility.”
