you realize what happened at baylor, and the reputation that followed them?
1 maybe 2 staff member is 1 thing, but then to have both or OC and DC from them during that time is taking too far…their reputation will start to taint ours…

after really checking into it for me there are 3 DC that id like
Corey Raymond, lsu db coach and head recruiter for the last 6 years, trained under 2 elite DC (john chavis and dave aranda), runs the most illustrious unit in college football (dbu)…there are literally videos on the web of 5star recruits saying they only committed because of him. ohio state tried to still him last year
Bert Watts - Fresno states DC, the level of the mwc is similar to aac, as a top 5 in scoring defense
Ikaika Malloe- Washington’s Dline coach, washington has had an elite Dline/defense under his 3 year tenure (note Washington just kept wazzu to their lowest scoring total of the year) his dline at utah state was also elite …has dc experience in the FCS level
– not as a DC but would love for zac spav to comeback in some capacity
a few others i like but these 3 are my top
Those are all great guys no doubt…I’m just worried based on the talent we return and possibly major being on the hot seat that we might not be able to attract the best candidates.
If you get fired from your last job. I dont think we want that. Also dont want to be baylor U. We are Houston
I am beginning to believe ANYONE … has-beens or retreads are ALL a crapshoot for DC …
After seeing Michigan which supposedly had the best defense in DivIA fall like a house of cards to the buckeyes … WVa fall to OU and OU showing a defense worse than ours …
Orlando barely surviving at the 40 acres with the BEST HS defensive talent in the state …
ND letting a weak trojan offense run through it like poop through a goose
Last night LSU could not stop the gaggies and vice versa …
SEEMS NO ONE can stop these new offenses/old offenses/no offenses …
No one was filling the gaps spying on the QB …
Yep finding a worthwhile DC is like visiting a crap table at a Vegas casino …

It’s all about recruiting in college. Get a great, young , energetic, recruiting DC.

Bennett as DC…hands down. He has Texas recruiting connections.
We’re no closer to becoming Baylor U than UT is of becoming UH.

Bennett’s a 4-3 guy. Not sure he’d be a good fit.

Bennett had medical issues last year and retired at 62. Not sure he wants to come back at this point.

You would think CMA would have a list of candidates but not sure about his judgment with our last DC
MacIntyre just got hired by Ole Miss as their DC.

I would prefer we choose an NFL assistant and make him the DC. Recruits are attracted to coaches who have NFL experience to booster their dreams of playing in the pros.
