Probably going to be a successful C-USA DC, either Baker from La Tech or Fuller at Marshall.

Fuller at Marshall is a really exciting candidate. Style-wise its extremely similar to Gibbs and Orlando’s defenses (and the numbers back that up) and the last two times he’s been a DC the results have been outstanding.
I’d like Baker from LT less so, but would still like that hire a bunch more than something like Phil Bennett or an ex Herman defensive coach on staff in Austin now (Naivar or one of them).
Whoever the next DC will be at UH, it has to be someone that is capable of moving into Apple’s job when he gets fired or resigns. Not if, but when. If I was the money man at UH, I would convince Briles to stay one more year, and if Apple is not playing for the Conference championship, then fire him and make Briles the Head Coach. If he is, then Briles can move on somewhere else and make even more money.
We have to get someone who is already a coordinator, not a position coach
Why would any DC at a P5 team take a step down to come here as DC?
