Mock drafts / UH draft talk/ AAC draft talk

Quinton Rose is declaring for the draft, but not hiring an agent. I doubt he goes:

Jacob Evans just announced he’s declaring. Cinci roster is thinning out.

Tankathon has Evans in the 1st round.
Gary Clark in the 2nd.

Not really surprising, but Melvin Frazier is definitely not returning to Tulane:

"Melvin Frazier, Tulane
2017-18 stats: 15.9 ppg | 5.6 rpg | 2.9 apg | 2.1 spg | 62.3 2-pt% | 38.5 3-pt %

A junior wing who played for a bad team in the American. Yep, you probably have no idea who this guy is, but guess what? He’s got a shot at going in the first round. Frazier boasts a 7-foot-2 wingspan, is a top-20 defender and athlete in this year’s draft crop, engages on both ends of the floor and has developed a reliable jump shot. He’s got a great shot at standing out at the combine because there’s plenty for him to prove – yet he’s already viewed as a lock to be picked. He’ll probably go through all the drills and five-on-five play, and if shines, it could bump him into the low 20s. "

"Shake Milton, SMU
2017-18 stats: 18.0 ppg | 4.7 rpg | 4.4 apg | 46.2 2-pt% | 43.4 3-pt %

Milton missed the final 11 games of SMU’s season due to a hand injury, but the fact the junior got an invite to the combine is a positive development. At 6-6 and approximately 205 pounds, Milton is a bit off the radar at this point. He didn’t play for a team that made the NCAA Tournament last season, and injuries kept him out of the picture in February and March. So in a lot of ways, he’s got a great chance to surprise. Milton could thrive in five-on-five play, and his playmaking ability combined with natural scoring instinct will probably ensure he goes top-40. But if he shows up with something to prove and winds up completing drill work to the best of his abilities, the first round could be in his future. "

1st CBS mock after lottery:
3 AAC players at end of 1st. (27th, 28th, 30th)

"Rising: Melvin Frazier, G/F, Tulane

A popular sleeper coming into the week, Frazier was one of the most impressive players on the first day of the combine and chose to shut it down on Friday and skip the scrimmage. Although teams have questions about his awareness and basketball instincts, he has the type of tools on the wing that NBA teams are eager to develop, with long arms, impressive foot speed and quickness and some ability to shoot from outside. He’s viewed as a player who carries some risk, but the glimpse he offered helped stabilize him as a potential first-rounder. Frazier will be able to capitalize on his tools and get a real opportunity to become a rotation player."

"Falling: Shake Milton, G, SMU

Milton failed to convert a single field goal over the course of two days at the combine, and his flaws were exposed in this competitive environment. Placed on a team that lacked a true point guard, there was an opportunity for Milton to show he could control the game, run the show and be a legitimate combo guard. He did have a couple of moments where his 6’6” size made a difference defensively, but the overall offensive ineffectiveness and what at times looks like a lack of fight left a poor impression. Milton still has some good tools and two bad days won’t erase his résumé, but it was concerning to see him out of place here"

21. Jazz — Melvin Frazier, SF, Tulane
Frazier is a solid option as a versatile defensive player who can guard three positions. He created some buzz at the combine in Chicago. He shot 38.5 percent from the 3-point line this season, a big jump (and maybe an anomaly?) from his first two years at Tulane, both of which were below 29 percent.”

Other first-round possibilities: Jontay Porter, Missouri; Kevin Huerter, Maryland; Jacob Evans, Cincinnati; De’Anthony Melton, USC; Trevon Duval, Duke; Jalen Brunson, Villanova; Omari Spellman, Villanova; Jerome Robinson, Boston College; Shake Milton, SMU; Dzanan Musa, Bosnia and Herzegovinia.

"WICHITA STATE
The loss of Landry Shamet proved to be even bigger for the Shockers, despite Markis McDuffie making the decision to remove his name from the draft and return. Shamet was one of the best players in the American last season, averaging 14.9 points and 5.2 assists per game while shooting 48.9 percent from the field and 44.2 percent from three.

Losing Shamet was tough enough for the Shockers, as his departure leaves a major question mark at the point guard position. What made it an even tougher blow to absorb were the release of Alex Lomax (he committed to stay in Memphis and play for Penny Hardaway shortly thereafter) from his letter of intent and Austin Reaves’ decision to transfer to Oklahoma. With Shamet no longer in the fold, junior college All-American Ricky Torres will need to hit the ground running for Wichita State."

#19 Frazier-Tulane.
#29 Evans-Cinn

Frazier and Evans get a write up.

What are the chances Rob Gray gets drafted today?

I hope he gets drafted.

If he doesn’t get drafted, he can do a Keenum and sign where he might catch on. FWIW, second round picks aren’t slotted for salaries like the first round picks, so getting drafted may not matter if he isn’t taken first round.
