Montgomery currently ranks No. 1 in the USTFCCCA rankings in the 400-meter dash and No. 6 in the 200-meter dash. He is also a valuable leg on Houston’s 4x400-meter relay that ranks No. 1 in the nation.
The Plainfield, ill., native claimed The American Athletic Conference’s 400 title last week after clocking the world’s fastest time this season with a time of 45.04. The time places Montgomery at No. 9 on the all-time NCAA list and No. 11 on the all-time world list with the performance.
Montgomery also ran a leg on Houston’s 4x400-meter relay that clocked a world-record time of 3:01.51 on Feb. 9 at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational.
