NCAA approves AAC request to host 2020 football title game with 11 teams —

Yes we will still have an 8 game schedule. But since there are 11 teams, 1 team can’t play an AAC team every week. Which means that unless we add another team, there will be numerous openings in October/November.

Again, what is the big deal?
The ncaa does not like us with 11 Teams? Well we do not accept to be excluded from the cfp. The cfp is independent from the ncaa? Then why does it appear on the ncaa website?

In the same listing you do not see UCF listed but…

So the cfp is independent from the cfp? Seriously? They are sharing the same bank. That you can count on. What a bunch of hypocrites. So 11 Teams or not it does not matter one bit. Our commish should be exposing the cfp and the ncaa for what it is. You can be sure of one thing. He won’t. That my friends is a much bigger deal than being concerned to have 11 Teams or not.

This is great news bc it sets a precedent for The Ncaa to approve it again in 2021. We get the top 2 Acc teams playing which helps us get the bc s $$$ game way more often than not. It sets up a great Acc Championship game each yr for tv .

So what?

So we don’t have to add a 12th team to oi r conference and our scheduling among other things will reflect that.

Another reason to consider a scheduling agreement with BYU and/or Army.

The ACC has a scheduling agreement with partial member ND, which gives them 15 schools and creates the sam problem that the AAC will be facing with 11 (during the 5 or 6 weeks ND plays ACC teams).

I expect AAC teams to:

  • use the bye that week

  • FCS games

  • schedule teams in the ACC/ND or independents like Army/BYU/Liberty/UConn/NMSU (during this part of the season, obviously the PAC/BIG/XII/SEC are in play but they all have even number teams)

  • possible scheduling agreement with one of the independent teams besides ND/UConn

“We’ve tried to put together some models that have a permanent opponent, for instance UCF and USF really need to play every year, but we don’t have a lot of big rivalries like other conferences have,” Aresco said. "There’s another model that doesn’t have permanent opponents but does allow for UCF and USF to play pretty much every year.”
