For those watching the women tonight, here’s when the Coogs will be competing:
7:02pm - 4x100: Houston is in Heat 1
8:02pm - 110m Hurdles: Naomi Taylor in Heat 2
8:16pm - 100m: Ashely Seymour in Heat 2
8:30pm - Long Jump: Samiyah Samuels is in Flight 2

Any expectation of points that will be scored by the women?
Not sure. Taylor scored in the 60m Hurdles and Samuels scored in the Long Jump at Indoors. Neither are the favorites here, but they weren’t at Indoors either. If anyone scores, those two will probably be the ones.
Seymour is only a freshman and had the slowest time out of all the qualifiers so it would be a huge surprise to see her make it through. Still, as a freshman, it’s impressive to be here.
The 4x100 probably won’t advance, but they aren’t supposed to be here this year. Cougar relay teams can surprise so who knows.

Damn, Oregon finishes 3rd in 43.35 in Heat 3 to edge the Cougars out of the Final.
Good showing for this young team.

Taylor finishes her race in 13.14 to finish 5th in her heat.
Only a sophomore and has had an impressive season. Going to be a huge part of this team the next couple of years.
Seymour runs an 11.42 to finish 8th in her heat.
Only a freshman and was impressive this year.
So no Coogs will advance to Saturday. Samuels is the only one left tonight in the Long Jump.

Samuels with a 20’ 4 1/2” jump on her 1st try puts her in 7th after the 1st round of jumps.
After the 2nd round, Samuels didn’t improve and now sits in 10th.
Samuels doesn’t improve on her final jump and won’t make the finals. Right now, she’d be the 1st non qualifier.
So, no points for the Coogs this year. However, there are some promising signs with the women and some big guns that were saved for another year.
That stinks, was hoping for some points for the women’s team.
