Allen, an undrafted rookie from the University of Houston, served as third option behind Cam Newton throughout training camp and the preseason. It’s hard to make an impact from that position, but the only way to do so is by seizing the moment, something Allen acknowledged.

“[Opportunities are] so few and far between, so I was happy to take advantage enough to get a spot on this team,” he said.

It seems every year they have a new pro football league. Maybe one of these can stick at some point for a spring league. XFL returning is probably the best bet.

  • Elandon Roberts (Patriots W 27-20 over Texans) - 5 Tackles and a .5 TFL
  • William Jackson III (Bengals W 34-23 over Colts) - 4 tackles - was called for a helmet rule penalty on a Colts TD
  • Brandon Wilson (Bengals W 34-23 over Colts) - No stats, but was called for a fair catch interference penalty
  • Matt Adams (Colts L 23-34 vs Bengals) - No stats, did play 17 snaps on special teams
  • Tyus Bowser (Ravens W 47-3 over Bills) - 2 tackles
  • DJ Hayden (Jaguars W 20-15 over Giants) - 4 tackles and credited with a pass defensed which came on the final Giants offensive play of the game (4th and 6 from the JAX 36 with 1:55 to play)
  • Case Keenum (Broncos W 27-24 over Seahawks) - 25/39 329 yards 3 TD 3 INT, 1 sack for 5 yards, 84.2 Rating

Monday Night Update:

- Wade Phillips (Rams W 33-13 over Raiders) - Phillips defense held the Raiders to 395 yards of total offense and recorded 1 sack, but it was the 3 interceptions, including one that was run back for a TD, that turned the game.
