If you’re in Houston, you can see the Patriots/Jets or Giants/Eagles early and then the Broncos/Steelers late.

2. The Patriots’ locker room is naturally filled with Patriots jerseys, but linebacker Elandon Roberts’ locker stands out because of the variety of other jerseys inside it – Colts, Jaguars and Redskins. He’s a collector. And he has more at home.

Roberts says he likes to swap jerseys with those he has a connection with – possibly from growing up together in Port Arthur, Texas, being teammates at the University of Houston, or having developed a strong rapport in other ways.

The lineup in his locker:

Colts – Matthew Adams

Jaguars -– D.J. Hayden

Redskins -– Deshazor Everett

At home, he also has jerseys from Jamaal Charles (Broncos), William Jackson(Bengals) and Kevin Byard (Titans). He had looked up to Charles as a youngster.

Receivers coach Chad O’Shea handles the red-zone work, offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia is in charge of the running game in short-yardage situations, running backs coach Ivan Fears handles goal-line and backed-up plays, tight ends coach Nick Caley is responsible for third downs and offensive assistant Cole Popovich also helps in short-yardage areas.

Same goes for special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey, who also revealed he was undergoing treatment for cancer. His most recent scans came back clean as well.

Wrapping up the week:

Players

  • DJ Hayden (Jaguars L 24-21 to Bills) - DJ had 7 tackles and was the 2nd leading tackler against Buffalo.

  • D’Juan Hines (Browns W 35-20 over Bengals) - Hines continues to only play special teams where he got in on 15 snaps and made 1 tackle.

  • William Jackson III (Bengals L 35-20 to Browns) - Jackson played 63 snaps and made 4 tackles against the Browns.

  • Brandon Wilson (Bengals L 35-20 to Browns) - Wilson saw his most action on defense for the Bengals, getting in on 5 defensive snaps as well as 16 special teams snaps. He didn’t record a stat.

  • Elandon Roberts (Patriots W 27-13 over Jets) - Roberts missed a tackle early, but came back and had a strong day stuffing the run for New England. In the end, he made 5 tackles and recorded a tackle for loss.

  • Tyus Bowser (Ravens W 34-17 over Raiders) - Bowser saw 12 snaps on defense and 17 on special teams. He didn’t record a stat, but probably should have been credited with half a sack on one play.

  • Case Keenum (Broncos W 24-17 over Steelers) - 15/28 199 yards and 2 TDs for a 99.9 rating. He also had 3 carries for -3 yards (all kneel downs). Head on over to the 2022 Case Keenum Thread - Buffalo Bills if you want more analysis on how he’s doing.

  • Matthew Adams (Colts W 27-24 over Dolphins) - Adams continued to see extended time on the field with 17 defensive snaps and 23 special teams snaps. He made 3 tackles including a key 4th quarter tackle on a WR screen that forced Miami into a 3 and out. Apparently, the hit was pretty hard.

Coaches

  • Chad O’Shea (Patriots W 27-13 over Jets) - Patriots WR ran 5 times for 10 yards, and caught 12 passes on 14 targets for 200 yards. As far as Red Zone efficiency, the Patriots scored 1 TD and 2 FG in 3 attempts.
Thomas McGaughey (Giants L 25-22 to Eagles) - Giants again had a good day on Special Teams: 3/3 on FG with a long of 51, 1/1 on XP, 3 punts for a 44.3 average, 3 kick returns for a 33.7 average, and 2 punt returns for a 12.5 average.

Here was a picture of the play in question where Bowser should have been credited with half a sack:
