NFL EXPANDING PLAYOFFS

The NFL is proposing to expand playoffs this season.

LATEST NEWS

NFL owners and executives are set to discuss potential terms of a new collective bargaining agreement (CBA) in New York Thursday afternoon, an NFL spokesperson tells CNN. The current CBA is set to expire after the 2020 season.
Under a new CBA, ESPN, citing league sources, is reporting the owners are considering expanding the playoffs from six teams per conference to seven, with only the top seed from each conference receiving a first-round bye. Currently, the top two seeds get byes.
Interesting considering the powers that be for college football (NCAA and ESPN) seem determined to keep CFP at four teams. Can we ever hope this would change?

They are also adding a 17th regular season game and eliminating one preseason game.

Wow, that means almost half the NFL teams will be in the playoffs and some in college football think 4 playoff teams is perfect to represent 130 FBS teams. The people who run CFP are full of crap.

MLB is discussing vastly expanding theirs as well. All about $$$$$$. Hogwash, it greatly diminishes the regular season. Just wait until a team with a losing record wins the SB or WS. Everyone gets a trophy
