Oh, nice!! That has me fired up already! Coaches yelling, cursing, motivating. Ah sweet sounds of football.

Looks like we picked up a walk-on RB from Bellaire as well. Jaylen Davis out of Episcopal:

Johnson and Nunnery:

So we basically got an entire juco d-line?! Payne, Neal, Charles-Pierre, and Bell! That’s a stout line!

Walk-on RB James Fullbright

I wish they would give the name of the coach that recruited them.

Looks like we added some girth this year. That’s nice to see.

Thank you Patrick!

Bell? I watched the film on that boy…HE is going to be player for us, for sure…VERY aggressive and good speed too.

“Majority of what we sign will be on defense and offensive line. One thing we can’t ignore on offense is the offense line. We need to get those numbers way up.”
---------- Coach Holgorson

As a football fan and layman, my impression from the beginning of the 2018 season was that we need to bolster our defense and O-line the most and I was hoping Applewhite would address those positions by recruiting more players for those positions, but I was always concerned that he didn’t do enough when I looked at the recruits that he had committed. Just by looking at the levels of players Holgorsen brought in as well as their positions, I already feel confident Holgorsen is several notches above Applewhite in his ability to evaluate players as well as getting better players!

I have to be honest here… it seems now, that CMA didn’t run the program the way a more
Tenured coach would. His time under Saban
And Brown should have taught him more. 1/2 the class still has a redshirt? Use that year to
Get bigger, stronge, faster. Not rushed into the game and it’s too fast for you. We hired the right guy and the program will now head in the right direction.

Agreed. Applewhite was in over his head.

I feel much better with Holgo at the wheel.

Bardwell’s the one that really bothers me. Two years ago, his true freshman season, they put him out there for a few plays. Lost his redshirt because the 4-game rule wasn’t in place. Just little things like that continued to bother me about CMA’s tenure. Why I kept saying he was learning on the job.
