OU Top Returning RB Questionable to Return

Per Rotoworld who seems to have gotten their story from OU’s 247Sports site. Although everything on the OU site is paywalled except that Kennedy Brooks, specifically, is MIA.

They have plenty of talent outside of Brooks, but guys who rush for 1,000+ yards and average nearly 9 yards a carry don’t grow on trees, even for blue bloods like OU. Still very much speculation though, at this point.

For important context they also return 1 starter on the O Line, and that starter missed spring practice with an injury.

This is OU so I expect the him to be at fall camp. If not, he must have done something heinous. Missing June and July is not a big deal.

Behind Brooks and Sermon they don’t have much experience … two RS Fr that are green …

OU lost their top RB the first game last year and he never returned … I don’t recall his name but he doesn’t appear to be on their current roster.

If Brooks is a no-show then Sermon is their only hope unless they play those green freshmen …

Interesting …

The article stated that rumors were that Brooks from Mansfield Tx may transfer to TCU … Mansfield is considered a suburb of the Ft. Worth/Dallas area

There are many freshmen that start and play well. The type of kids OU recruits generally have the talent and could play immediately if needed.

It is Rodney Anderson who went down last season. He was a real difference-maker and oh would that offense had been special with him back there. Happy he declared for the NFL
They had some quality behind him but having their best OL in 30 years along with their Heisman dual threat qb considerably helped the running game.
If they lose their experience at RB it will help.

Sounds like his absence was tied to an investigation he was cleared of any wrongdoing in.
