PPG Guesses for 2018

Here are the top 10 G5 schools with the best (based on 247 Sports average ranking per recruit) recruiting classes 2016-19 including 2019 verbals. You can only infer so much as I haven’t taken into accounts transfers in and out.

So I would say, based on this that

  1. our expectations of contending for the conference title annually is realistic
  2. AAC is far and away the most talented “Outsider” conference.

Go Coogs!

How to do we compare to the big 12? We might actually be close.

If there is nothing good on TV tonight, I’ll have it for you tomorrow:)

lol Greg Ward Jr. should see some playing time tonight. We can start a new thread. I think everyone is interested in how we compare to others, as far as talent is concerned.

BYU is not G5

They are according to the SEC

But not according to the CFP.

And the SEC makes an exception considering them P5 for OOC scheduling. Do you think they are P5?

Just like Notre Dame

BYU has never been part of a P5 conference nor been invited to a P5 conference. They have however been part of two G5 conferences. So including them in the list of top G5 recruiting schools is more accurate when including them as a peer than not including them.

I think that they are on the same level as UH which is currently G5, the fact that they are independents does not make them P5 any more than New Mexico is P5 because they are independents.

^^This ^^

Who said they were?

New Mexico is in the Mountain West Conf. New Mexico State is an independent.

I stand corrected.

Good stuff! Looks like we stack up relatively well. I’m more surprised by Iowa State. They’ve obviously had a huge uptick in recruiting recently.

Yes. And I was surprised TCU didn’t have a higher per recruit number. I knew they wouldn’t really challenge OU and TU but I was expecting 88 or so.

Top 25 G5 recruiting rankings above

So I included all of the independents as G5 caliber schools except ND because Notre Dame is consider on par with most mid to upper echelon P5 schools. BYU is not, even in a very good year.

I must be missing it. I see the mix of G5 and P5 schools which is comparing the earlier list of top G5 recruiting schools to the Big 12.
