Houston out hit Tulane, 13-7, and of the 13 hits, four came for extra bases. The Cougars belted three home runs with Julks leading the way. Three Cougars produced a multi-hit night in Julks, Coldiron and Joe Davis.

Sophomore Mitch Ullom went 6.1 innings in his 13th start of the year, allowing just three runs on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts. He handed the ball over to sophomore Aaron Fletcher, who escaped an inherited jam in the seventh with runners at the corners and one out.

Fletcher was untouchable as the southpaw fanned four and didn’t allow a hit or walk in 2.2 innings in relief. With that effort, he earned the win, improving to 2-0 on the year.
