And bases loaded with no outs and we get one run from a balk, and nothing else…I love the Coogs but the mental and execution mistakes, despite the injuries and Romero etc., do not excuse the fundamental lack of fundamental baseball skills when it counts that has been a constant over the last few weeks. Sure we can hit, but not when it matters. I don’t understand, with our level of talent and ability, why we can lose so many games that were ours to win. We have a tough conference, but with this level of performance, we won’t last long in the post season. Not hating. Just stating. Go Coogs. Maybe they can catch their “second wind” and surprise me. At most games however, I feel there is something lacking in our team: that hunger. You know what I mean? The palpable sense of their will to play their best emanating from the dugout to win when it matters. Just my opinion however. I hope I am mistaken, and/or they change. Here is to hoping they can hang on to this win that should’ve been, objectively, a blowout.

This Romero experiment isn’t working. Should have left Fletcher in.
It is crazy…our 4 pitchers to their 1…and they tied the game. If we could’ve hit in the runs we had in earlier innings this situation would not occur…C’mon Coogs!!!
And the coaching staff of UCONN has conserved their pitching better than we have (and they were losing until the 9th). Kudos to them. What’s up in Htown?
