THERE ARE A LOT OF COOGS THAT PUT THE HATE ON THE AGGIES
AS THE SAME RATE AS TU. AS A SR COOG THE AGGIES PLAYED US
BACK IN THE DAY . SEEMS LIKE EVERY YEAR. THE TU FOLKS VERY
RARILY. THEY LOOKED DOWN ON US. WHEN WE KEPT WINNING THE
PRESURE TO PROVE UH WAS BELOW TU BEGAN TO BUILD. FINALLY
THEY HAD TO RELEANT.
A&M AS WELL AS BAYLOR TRIED TO GET US INTO THE SWC. NOT
THE HORNS OR RICE. RICE FOUGHT US AS HARD AS TU. WE PLAYED
BAYLOR A LOT AND SMU FINALLY. EVEN ARK PLAYED US. JESS NEELY
TOOK EVER OPERTUNITY TO DEGRADE US.
ART CAME TO US WHEN THE ADMIN WERE READY TO CLOSE DOWN THE
PROGRAM. HE SAVED OUR PROGRAM. HE HAD NO TALLENT LEFT BEHIND
TO BUILD ON. HAD TO START FROM SCRATCH. GOT US SOME RESPECT
AFTER TWO VERY BAD COACHES. WAS DOING WELL AND WE PLAYED
KANSAS. THEY WERE VERY BIG AND WE HAD A TOUGH TIME WITH THEM.
OUR AD TOLD ART HE HAD TO CHANGE HIS STAFF. MOST AD GIVE A COACH
A DIRECTION BUT DOES NOT TELL HIM WHAT TO DO. ART DID NOT LIKE
THIS INTERFEARUS INTO HIS TEAM. THE HEAVY HITTER BAPTIST WHERE
INTERESTED IN ART. THEY REALLY DID A SALES JOB ON ART WITH THEIR
TOP PEOPLE. ALSO MORE MONEY WITH A LOT OF PROMISSES OF BIG
MONEY IF HE TURNED THEM AROUND. THE DEMAND TO CHANGE HIS
STAFF WAS A PROBLEM FOR ART. THE NICE BAYLOR FOLKS WERE VERY
NICE AND NO DEMANDS. ART LEFT. BUT HE SAVED OUR PROGRAM. AND
THATS THE TRUTH. GO COOGS

Exactly right. When the old Grayfox speaks, pay attention!

I will add three comments:

  1. We never had a more determined enemy than Jess Neely, the famed coach of Rice University!
  2. One of the reasons Baylor played us so much in the early days was the support they got from H. R. Cullen; no way were they going to make him mad!
  3. And yes, the Aggies used to play us every year, but they dropped us like a hot potato when they left the SWC and went to the SEC. I will give them credit though for ignoring the whorns and leaving them behind!

I don’t remember the Aggies ever playing us after they and UT killed the SWC.

The Aggies dropped us after the 1965 season. They played us again from 1976 to 1995 simply because they were required to do so.

They do not support us whatsoever. And will never.
