The first and second team defenses were fantastic today. Very physical.

Assuming you were there, what did the offense look like? Did anyone stand out?

A 37 second video and I saw two plays I would classify as “screens.” Time to hit the panic button.**

They rotated so much it was hard to keep track.
Lots of players looked really good on offense.

Keith Corbin seemed to have a lot of catches.
Stevenson (I think) caught a long bomb that was beautifully thrown.
Kinte Hatton had some good catches, including a leaping TD catch in traffic.
Payton Sawyer is super quick and seemed to do a nice job when he got reps as a punt returner and had a catch or two with the 2s or 3s. He was the freshman I noticed the most.

The defense did a really good job of stopping the run, but Car and Williams were playing very physical. I was surprised that P. Carr seemed to get a lot of first team reps at RB.
Offensive tempo was off the charts fast.

King was pretty sharp and had some good scrambles, in addition to the deep ball and TD pass to Hatton, referenced above.
Dormady seemed to start off a little shaky but settled in. I feel pretty comfortable about him as a backup.

A depth chart surprise to me: Payton Turner was with the ones. Chambers was with the twos.
Either Javian Smith or Kadarian Smith (can’t remember) was getting reps at DB with the first team. Isaiah was the other starting DB.

I didn’t catch any reps from the Notre Dame transfer, Watkins, but I could have missed it.
I also didn’t see any reps from Bryson Smith at either QB or WR.
I didn’t see Courtney Lark get reps either.

Great post, good to see offense clicking , but any improvements on the secondary, LB play ? Those long balls and TD catches are not encouraging news for that group.

We used to play them late in the season.

Defense was solid all around.
I’m not sure of the final score, but my subjective opinion was that the defense won the day.

Hopefully practicing against our salty defense will have the offense ready for whatever any other team can throw at them.

Julon is going to be special

I remember watching Julon on tv a few times his senior year. He was special then and will be for us also.

The DL dominated the line of scrimmage. They were two and three yards deep on most plays. #10 and #52 were angry dudes in the trenches.

Oliver and Carter. Are we surprised? Love to see Ju Ju Williams take over.

I expected no less. This is only going to make us better all around.

Good to hear, think the offense and DL line is legit. it’s going to be up to secondary play and special teams to get UH back to the Championship game IMO.

The DLine is a huge asset on so many levels, practicing against this DLine makes the O better.
