Soccer Announces Spring Schedule

The University of Houston Soccer team will return to action this spring with a five-date schedule highlighted by two contests at the Carl Lewis Complex, including an Alumni Day tournament.

The Cougars spring slate includes opponents from the Big 12, Southland, and Conference USA. All contest at the Carl Lewis Complex are free of charge and open to the public.

The Cougars will open play March 2 on the road when they visit Corpus Christi for meetings with Texas A&M Corpus Christi and UTSA. Houston will face the Islanders at 2 p.m. inside the Dr. Jack Dugan Soccer and Track & Field Stadium, followed by a 3:30 p.m. matchup against the Roadrunners.

Houston returns home on March 23 for a 2 p.m. match against Southland conference foe, Lamar. The Cougars will close out the month of March with a 7-on-7 tournament at Houston Baptist that is slated to last all day.

The Cougars will conclude their spring schedule in April with back-to-back contest. Houston will return to the Carl Lewis Complex on April 13 for an Alumni Day 7-on-7 tournament that is slated to begin at 11 a.m., before concluding spring action in Austin on April 14. Houston will take on Texas at the Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field in a contest scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

I’ve never heard of playing 2 games of soccer on the same day.

They’ll do it in the spring to save money. Kind of an invitational.
