7th | The Cougars showed their fight in the final inning, as a couple of runners found themselves in scoring position with nobody out to start the frame. Once senior first baseman Savannah Heebner crossed the plate to tie the game, junior infielder Sarah Queenrecorded her lone RBI to score junior outfielder Lindsey Stewart and give the Cougars their first lead of the game, 3-2. The rally continued for Houston, thanks to James clearing the bases and scoring another pair for the Cougars, pushing the advantage to three. Odneal kept the inning alive with a double down the line to score James and by the end of the inning, the Cougars had plated six runs to take a 7-2 lead.
