The University of Houston Swimming & Diving program closes out three straight weeks of action against teams that were ranked or receiving votes by sweeping The American weekly awards. Laura Laderoute earned Swimmer of the Week honors and Katie Deininger was tabbed as the Diver of the Week.

After posting three podium finishes against LSU and Rice in Baton Rouge last weekend, Laderoute earns the first weekly honor of her career. The junior finished the 100 backstroke with a time of 54.77 for first-place, closed out the 200 back in third-place at 2:01.02, and turned in a second-place finish in the 200 IM with a time of 2:03.51.

Deininger led the Cougars on the boards with a third-place finish in the 3-Meter with 282.08 points, finishing fourth in the 1-meter with 239.03 points.

The awards marks Deininger’s third weekly award this season and the third of her career.
