Terrell Williams Named American Player of the Week, also wins Jim Thorpe Award

In addition to his two interceptions, Williams added five tackles and one pass breakup as the Houston defense held SMU, who entered the game No. 3 nationally in scoring offense, to over 26.2 points below its scoring average.

Williams is the third member of the #HTownTakeover to receive a weekly honor from The American following Ed Oliver (Defensive Player of the Week - Sept. 11) and Dane Roy (Special Teams Player of the Week - Sept. 18).

Was at Ft. Sill a few years ago and had to visit Wally World. I was in the check out line and the cashier noticed my UH shirt, smiled, and told me her brother had just signed to play for UH. It was Terrell Williams sister.
