Texan Beshoory triumphs at Calgary's Glencoe Invitational

The 19-year-old fired a 2-under 70 in Saturday’s final round and sealed the victory when Chris Crisologo of Richmond, B.C., missed a par putt on No. 18 that would have forced a playoff.

Among the first to offer congratulations to Beshoory were Calgary’s Emmett Oh and Matt Williams, his teammates on the University of Houston Cougars golf squad and among those who encouraged him to include the Glencoe Invitational on his summer schedule.

“They said the people are great, the course is great and all the players are really nice,” Beshoory said. “And I just love it up here. It’s my first time being in Canada, so I had to make the trip up. And it was well worth it.”
