Good luck to my North Shore Mustangs! Being in one of the first graduating classes we competed against much bigger schools from Spring Branch ISD (Spring Branch, Spring Woods, Westchester, Memorial), Aldine ISD (Aldine & McArthur) and Smiley made up our district along with Galena Park HS our GPISD rival. Our starting center in 1969 was about 5’8” and weighing in at around 165 with pads on in 1969. I had to just laugh to see their current offensive line has 3 player who are over 6’ and weight 300+. They are on a nice run-State playoff every year since 1994 and two State titles. Go Mustangs!!!

Last reminder … TODAY the Texas HS state finals begin … at the AT&T stadium in Dallas
both 1A six man divisions on the Fox sports app … at 11 AM and 2 PM
2A and on up begin tonight ALL on cable TV Fox Sports SW at 7 PM
3 games/day until Saturday at 11 AM … 3 PM … and 7 PM …

Marshall will be heavy underdogs … Aledo is like the Bama of the 5A HS class
Don’t forget Beaumont West Brook … they are sorta in the Houston area …

Congratulations to my North Shore Mustangs who saved my day from being a total football disaster. And, I was going to settle for a field goal victory. LOL They found a way to make it a much more exciting and historical victory. State Champions!!!
