In addition to Triolo’s accolade, junior closer Fred Villarreal was named to The American Weekly Honor Roll. Villarreal posted a 0.00 ERA with two saves across three appearances out of the bullpen.

Villarreal recorded one save with a scoreless ninth in Houston’s win over the nationally ranked Aggies. He added another save, his conference-leading ninth of the season, with two scoreless innings in Friday’s win over the Bearcats. Villarreal added two scoreless innings in Saturday’s series finale with Cincinnati.
