“We’re really trying to see who the champion of the state is,” UH third-year coach Kristin Vesely said.
UH enters the postseason hot, winners of 11 of its final 13 regular season games. With the American Athletic Conference tournament canceled due to bad weather, it will be 12 days since the Cougars last played a complete game. Thought to possibly be on the bubble — and not able to finish its opening round AAC game against Connecticut — the Cougars were not only rewarded with a No. 2 seed but also able to stay close to home.
“We’re peaking at the right time of year,” Vesely said “If we play well, I think we’re very, very competitive.
I think last year giving us a little bit of experience in the postseason will help.”
