“Our goal each and every year is to win conference,” said coach Tom Herman, whose sixth-ranked Cougars open defense of their American Athletic Conference crown Thursday night against Cincinnati. “We’ve got maybe one of the toughest roadblocks in conference play in terms of the quality of opponent, and then you couple that with the fact we’ve got them at their place on a Thursday night. It will be extremely challenging, but one that we are excited to take part in.”
