King, a junior from Manvel, spent the offseason learning the Cougars’ fast-pace, downfield attack installed by new associate head coach/offensive coordinator Kendal Briles, who was part of explosive offenses at Baylor and Florida Atlantic. While last year’s offense was scripted with several designed runs, King said the new offense “give you more freedom to make plays.”
