HOW IT HAPPENED
Houston got on the board early for the second straight game with the help of Olivia Lee. The sophomore notched her second career goal inside the 21st minute on a corner kick, assisted by Mia Brascia.
Preseason All-Conference selection Jazmin Grant made her presence known throughout the match, posting three shots and connecting on one in the 87th minute.
Grant went one-on-one with the Incarnate Word goalkeeper, whizzing the second goal of the match into the back of the net to put Houston up 2-0 with less than three minutes remaining.
Houston outshot the Cardinals 14-7, this is the third straight game that the Cougars have outshot their opponent.
Lee’s goal is the second of her career and her second of the season. The sophomore has scored in each of the last two matches.
Brascia is now tied for the most assist this season with two along with Kaitlyn Wild.
Grant now has six goals for her career.
Rachel Estopare collected five saves and now has 175 total saves for her career and is fourth all-time in goals at Houston.
