Tulsa enters Saturday’s contest with a 9-9 overall record and a 3-2 mark in The American. The Tulsa has lost back-to-back games including a 70-50 defeat at home against Cincinnati on Jan. 19.

Tulsa averages 59.9 points per game while shooting 36.3 percent from the field and 29.4 percent from beyond the 3-point line. Crystal Polk leads the Golden Hurricane in scoring at 18.4 points per game and rebounds with 8.8 rebounds per game, while Alexis Gaulden leads the team in assist with 61 this season. On the defensive end, Temple allows opponents to average 63.3 points per contest on 40.8 percent and 31.5 percent from the field and beyond the arc, respectively.

I’ve heard she’s just suspended for now and she has to meet terms laid out by Coach to come back. There was some speculation she’d be back this week, but it didn’t happen.

Houston: The Cougars saw three players reach double figures in scoring, including a double-double from Branch, the first of her career. Branch finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Barnes recorded her fifth double-digit performance in the last six games, finishing with 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting from long-range. Hill finished with 17 points, her second-highest scoring game this season to go along with a career-high eight rebounds. Dymond Gladney tied her previous career-high, finishing with eight points and a career-high three rebounds.

Tulsa: The Golden Hurricane had one player reach double figures in the game. Rebecca Lescay posted a team-high 13 points., followed by Crytal Polk with nine points. Desiree Lewis led Tulsa on the boards with five.

NEWS AND NOTES

* Houston won its first game against Tulsa since the 2017 season, after dropping both contest last season.
* The Cougars outrebounded Tulsa 50-34. The Cougars won the offensive rebound battle 14-7, leading to a 15-2 advantage in second-chance points.
* The Cougars also held advantages in points off turnovers (20-6), points in the paint (36-24), fast-break points (16-5) and bench points (17-10).
* Houston held Tulsa to only two made baskets from long-range, tying a team low in the category.
