Longtime NFL coach Wade Phillips, former Texas A&M All-American Dave Elmendorf and former University of Houston volleyball players and Olympic medalists Flo Hyman and Rita Buck-Crockett are among eight candidates selected for induction into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.
Also among the group to be inducted Feb. 21, 2017, in Waco are Olympic gold medal-winning gymnast Nastia Liukin, former University of Texas football and track standout Eric Metcalf, Texas A&M track coach Pat Henry and former Cowboys defensive back Darren Woodson.
