2017 Summer League Coogs

The Aces’ second All Star is Nick Slaughter (Houston). Slaughter carries a .290 average and leads the team in triples (2), home runs (2), and is second in doubles (6). He has a .548 slugging percentage, and that figure leads the Aces by a wide margin.

Latest update: Connor Hollis had himself a week as did Nick Slaughter. Nolan Bond had a nice start going 5 innings and only giving up 3 hits, no runs, and striking out 8.

Note: Carter Henry was released from Bourne so I don’t think he’ll be pitching anymore this summer.

Connor Hollis continues to rake and is hitting .422 now. Bielamowicz hit two homers this week and Etzel hit a big 3 run homer as a pinch hitter.

It looks like Lael Lockhart Jr and Rey Fuentes were shut down this past week while Nolan Bond pitched out of the pen.

Day late due to being a bit under the weather, but here’s this week’s update. Hollis continues to rake as does Bielo. Coldiron has also seen his average climb lately. I believe Slaughter’s season is done and they’re in the playoffs; looked like he had a 5-6 game with a HR and 5 RBI in a 15-14 loss in Game 1. Not sure how the playoffs work in that league so I don’t know if he’s done.

Bond came out of the bullpen again this week, but pitched well earning a save and Edwards also picked up a save. Bielo also pitched again and did well in his one outing.

Looks like more of these guys are shutting it down as they start to get ready to come back to school. Slaughter’s season did end last week as did Coldiron’s.

Connor Hollis continues to roll as his team enters the last week of the season and Jared Triolo is on fire as Bourne entered the playoffs. Only three guys going still as most of the leagues are wrapping up.

Bond has moved on to National play and did pretty well: :astonished:

Good stuff…and a cameo from Connor Hollis

“I am very proud of Nolan for his performance. I am not surprised by his success as he is a relentless worker on and off the field,” remarked Houston Head Coach Todd Whitting. “I look forward to him once again competing to be a significant pitcher in our rotation next season.”

Bond will likely take the hill this weekend as Great Britain enters the final eight of the U23 Championship. Carroll’s men take on the Netherlands on Friday at 14:00 GMT, with a game on Saturday and Sunday depending on whether they win or lose. Extra Innings will have play-by-play coverage on Twitter @ExtraInningsUK, with other coverage and analysis as well.

Final update for the 2017 Summer League Season. Only two players were in action this week as Connor Hollis wrapped up the Northwoods batting title and Jared Triolo came close to leading Bourne to the Championship of the Cape Cod League with 6 double and 9 RBI’s in 7 games.

Kalamazoo infielder Connor Hollis leads the list of award winners. Hollis earned a Rawlings “Big Stick” by leading the league with an impressive .375 batting average.

Rawlings has been rewarding the top hitters in the Northwoods League since 2007 in addition to honoring the best fielders since 2002. To honor their achievement, the nine award winners will receive an engraved bat from Rawlings. The complete list of 2017 Rawlings “Big Stick” Award Winners is below.
