Just to make sure its clear, that was 2018 that Timmy was referencing last time it rained in the final. Here was today’s semi final.

Lol

Crap!

Tough for Dayo. Tough break.

That sucked. Maybe slipped a little or pushed too hard. Feel bad for him as that was his last college race. He ran under 13.68 both races in prelims and at the conference championships so it was looking good to advance.

He was running well and then stumbled.

Feel bad for the kid.

He might have been leading until the stumble.

I’m starting to think this Shaun kid might be pretty good! Lol. I feel like the look back to Laird was a response to his, love it.

I was worried about him.

Coogs in every heat of the 200.

Wow2!!

Clown announcers barely mentioned him

Sampy made it over the 2nd height on his last attempt. If he gets the next one that means points. Ruiz had a bad day, didn’t get over. Okafor wont advance in long jump either. The positive is all these guys will be back next year. Field points over the next couple years looks positive.

Sampy is out, will finish 11th overall. Great showing.

Conference note: Dever from Tulsa wins the 10k. Big upset over Mantz.

Shaun is a special talent, it will be fun to follow his career.

I saw this article this morning: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.iol.co.za/amp/sport/athletics/us-based-sa-sprint-sensation-shaun-maswanganyi-finally-qualifies-for-tokyo-olympics-4de01b27-4452-4042-ae53-76f2541eed7d

As it stands right now, Shaun is “automatically” in the Olympics for the 100/200, and likely for 4*100. That’s subject to change, but right now he’s one of two South Africans with an Olympic qualifying time in the 200, and one of three that’s qualified in the 100. Each country gets to send three in each event.
