Current Possible Big Man Transfers:

  • Graham Ike- 6’9" 255lb Center from Wyoming. Can bang down low and has a soft touch around the rim. Looks to have more of an offensive game compared to Carlton. Can even shoot the midrange and has a smooth stroke. Shot 71% for FT’s in 2021-2022. Not bad for a center. Not sure about his defensive abilites yet. Doesn’t record many blocks at 0.33/game. But I’d be more concerned with how he fits the defensive system set in place at UH. Successfully trapping and switching and staying front of his man is more important to me than blocks. Carlton wasn’t a huge blocker but he did his job. Would be a R-Junior next year for us. I like his game and I think we should go hard for him but he’s got a lot of schools chasing him so we will see.

  • Kel’el Ware- 7’0" 210lb Center from Oregon. Former 5 Star recruit sat behind N’Faly Dante this year in the rotation. Averaged about 15.8 minutes/game and had decent numbers in 6.6ppg, 4.1rpg. Fg% isn’t that great. Doesn’t have a bad shot could spread the floor a bit. He’s an athletic freak but personally I would rather have someone a bit beefier and more experienced. He will be a sophomore next season and has already been contacted by Duke, Arkansas. Seems like a more likely fit there but I am keeping him in mind.

  • Myles Stute- 6’7" 215lb Forward from Vanderbilt. Played 25 minutes/game this year and was apart of some big wins with Vanderbilt and Jerry Stackhouse. He wouldn’t be a Graham Ike and a true big man. He’s more of a small forward/power forward. However you want to play him he will fit into those positions. Has a nice 3 point shot. Not a great percentage in 36.1%, but when he’s open he can knock them down. I wouldn’t choose him though because we can get better shooters and a better big man in the portal. He would be kind of a tweeter for us and I think we need to get a true big man and elite shooter. Also, don’t like how he entered the transfer portal before the SEC Tournament and left his team out to dry. Vanderbilt fans have also claimed he’s been off lately so he may have some badge which we won’t want to deal with.

  • Kadin Shedrick- 6’11" 231lb Forward/Center from Virgina. We’ve all seen this guy play before. Has a goo touch around the rim. He loves to complete. However, I’m not sold on his rebounding. Only averaged 3.8 rpg and I know Carlton had similar numbers but Shedrick was a much bigger part of Virginia’s team for the majority of the year. You could say that Gardener “stole” some of his rebounds but I still don’t know. He can shoot the midrange and come out the the elbow. His Roll was lessened over the course of this season. Graham Ike would be my first choice big man over him.

Just have been looking at big man. Haven’t looked too much into potential guards and knock down shooters. I think my first choice from the few we’ve seen would be Graham Ike. From what I’ve seen so far he looks pretty good. Don’t know why I spend so much time dong this when it won’t matter in the end. UH will get who they want.

He played more, though - probably averaged more than 5 minutes a game.

I don’t remember him at all… Crazy.

And I was in attendance at most games since 2009 until I left Texas in 2018.
