if we are looking at an offense based offseason… cook is a tier 1 pick up
his size isnt ideal, but i would not complain if we picked up cook
Cook is very talented but he’s short and a bit of a volume shooter. He was laying brick after brick while Forbes was shooting lights out in their first loss to us, still wouldn’t pass the ball and shot them right out of the game. Not sure about his defense, either.
Massoud was bombing away in the tourney; watched several of their games and he was on fire when he got in
Much like his brother who had the rocket arm when he was a QB here
Both talented athletes
Odd that he’s transferring again - wonder how many yrs he has left to play ?
Interesting comparison on rebounds per minute:
Jamarion Sharp = 3.70 reb/min (2022-2023)
J’wan Roberts = 3.43 reb/min (2022-2023)
Graham Ike = 3.29 reb/min (2020-2021) Ike missed this past season due to injury.
According to scouting reports, Sharp is not an elite rebounder for his size and does not have much of a game facing the basket, but is a strong finisher. In the online video I saw, he moves fairly well for a person his size.
He was at Wake for a year or two then at KState after.
I believe this would be a grad transfer year or COVID year.
and w couldnt guard him the 2nd game at all… talkng exclusively offense, well have a hard time finding a better offensive player… great catch and shooter, great off the dribble …if we added him id be 100% shocked if he wasnt our leading scorer…
he has no bounce at 6’0 so he likely will never be a good rebounder…
his defense is interesting, his defense at tulane was just bad, exlusively off tulane id say he has subpar defense… but whats odd about cook was that he was a touted defender in HS (We recruited him in HS). he was projected to be an elite level defender by this point in his career … it just didnt turn out that way… maybe tulanes culture and zone affected that trajectory
I was. Wtf happened at TT?
Mark Adams was fired…
Plus, he had to live in Lubbock for a year… That’ll make you rethink all kinds of decisions…

Here’s the guy we should go after :
Tulane guard Jalen Cook is in the portal now
That fired him “with cause” ain’t sticking in court…
Hahaha!!!
I think Shead and the Coog D will have to change things up next year.
How many times was Shead in foul trouble this year? Alot.
Some of that was silly reach in fouls. But some of that is trying to ball pressure aggressively and getting a hand check call
Next year, if your starting point guard has to sit with fouls, good chance you will lose that game
Mylik Wilson or Mark as backup point. Offense won’t be as effective
I think Hunter can challenge for AAC Championship…
Just got harder next year, though…
Moses Wood enters the transfer portal
Started at Tulane. Then UNLV and Portland
Made (75) threes last season
He’s very experienced at transferring.
I’d pass.
He’s not all that.
Sharp is NBA ready at this point defensively. He moves like he is 6-5 and not 7-5 and is one of the best shot blockers in the college game. The problem is his arms and legs are like pencils, and yes, he has very little offensive skills. He can rebound a bit just because of his height. But strong inside guys can move him out of the basket and not get called for a foul. His fatigue wasn’t bad in the game I saw this season.
Went there on one of my recruiting visits back in the day….looked around and had already made up my mind before the visit started……nasty
