not in the ways i expected… i expected a bigger offensive jump… but his defense and leadership took a big jump imo… the offense took a jump but nowhere as big as i had anticipated … i expected what he did vs iowa state but in more games

Imo it was more bc of All 3 guards could be the leading scorer from game to game, then throw in your PF- Roberts as 4th possibility.
W Shead the ball would get sticky many times n then he would have to go make play in last 5-7 secs of shot clock.
Sometimes he’s limited by what Coach is calling or wants, esp when CKS sees an advantage he might want to target.

I can not speak highly enough of L.J. rising up to be a leader of this basketball team, when that is not his natural personality. The coaching staff doubled as psychiatrists to get L.J. to become the leader he has become. L.J. deserves all the awards he has achieved.

Sounds like analytically he’s the worst perimeter defender that gets major minutes at UH…
What in particular did you notice an improvement on in his D this year?
defensive rating is a team stat, just when you are on the court … advanced analytics that actually measure defense (who scores on you, like on sysergy) say he is a great defender, but my point was more based on film
mercy isnt the best perimeter defender on the team, and terrence wasnt a better defender than shead last year … ifwe are going by defensive rating
Defense is all eye test with CKS, you get blown by on a drive, you will find yourself on the bench. If Mercy could make a few shots he might see the floor, but he will learn and come back better next year.
Has nothing to do with his Minu.
Seems right… I’ve seen him miss a few rotations and get blown by a few times but very few through the whole season…
