I celebrate when I sleep more than 5 hours straight
So whatâs it like to have never had âtrue successâ?
No way youâve ever been a âChampionâ at anything.
True success is being Sarcasm King on Coogfans. Still waiting for my banner to arrive in the mail
Duke=Losers
Fwiw, I celebrated the beating Duke like it was a natty. Iâm sure there are Riverwalk security cameras than can vouch. I feel sorry for the host city when we have âtrue successâ
You can put in for the âAlmostâ banners too! I myself am going to put more money into the NIL.
We have seven Final Four banners. There are a lot of schools out there that do not have one.
I donât count the ones before the modern format of 64+ teams and the 3 point line lol.
So basically we have 2 Final Fours in the modern era.
You move the goal posts and we still have more than all the schools with no FF and still have the most FF of any school from Texas. Haha
Well thankfully everyone else does.
We did it 5 times when all NBA caliber players were still playing in college as upperclassmen.
Just observing some of the posts abt the 2024/25 season being a failure, Iâll just go along w what CKS told to the media earlier this week when he met w them.
Not quoted verbatim:
" We won 3 Championships â BIG12 Regular Season Title, BIG12 CT, NCAA Midwest Regional Championship "
â3 Banners, 3 Net cutting celebrationsâ
" We went 35-5 for the year n came within a basket or a play during the game that would have made ua Natâl Champions."
Iâll go with his analysis than some other negative spin.
Iâm with you one if the best seasons in our history I enjoyed every moment of it except the last minute or so of the Florida game of which I was at now far from where Sharp had his shot attempt foiled
greyriderâs posts should be taken no more seriously than mine about Damien Dunn being the key to victory vs Florida.
Okay, so that is cool. Increases the number of schools that have less final four appearances than we do and also eliminates the one Texas school that has one a NCAA tournament championship. Works for me.
Still leaves one Texas team with a championship. Lol
Anyone saying the 2024-25 was not a success is indeed a troll.
By the way CKS turned down more money to stay with us. Let that sink in.
2 Texas schools have a Natty.
UTEP(then called Texas Western) and Baylor.
Oops. Forgot about Baylor.
I didnât know UTEP had a different name back then lol.
Only ones I know about are HBU to HCU and Southwest Texas State to Texas State.
Quite a lot of colleges have changed names, actually.
UH used to be Houston Junior College.
Auburn was formally called Alabama Polytechnic Institute (among other names) before becoming Auburn University in the 60s.
UNT used to be North Texas State. Likewise, Memphis used to be Memphis State.
New Mexico State, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, and Colorado State, and probably others used to all be A&M instead of State. The A&M we know today is basically the only one that didnât, although a couple of other schools like Alabama A&M took the name later.
