Ced is going to be an absolute monster in 1 more year.

I think Ced this year is going to have a chance to make an impact in specific matchups. I say this as down low he’s our immovable object piece, most of the time it won’t be necessary, but against a big strong post guy like Dickinson who’s post moves are big sweeping clear out arms and size backing down that’s going to be handy when he can’t move Ced out of the way so easily.

Lath has limited basketball skills. Nevertheless, I see him contributing this year in a limited fashion when UH needs bulk inside to keep players out of the paint or to make players think twice about driving. One of my favorite memories of Lath in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

At minimum, 5 big man fouls to give this year.

It is cool to think we can have two bigs pick up 2 quick fouls and we can still run two legit bigs out there together if we don’t want to go to a small lineup.

With our bench depth, Sampson may not even care about fouls except for the FTs they create.

That’s even more reason to take them out and save them for the next half. This last years we actually brought some players back in the games in the 1st halves due to need.

Seems like we could have decent rim protection and rebounding. :grinning:

That is insane. Francis has his shoulder at the rim. Not sure I’ve seen that much that I’m aware of

Three man weave also dropped their Bug 12 preview today.

From 21:20-25:10.

One of the guys I think Matt (I forget who’s who) is super high in Houston. Has us #1 in the country and thinks we are historically good.

Other guys think that our floor is one of the lowest it’s been under Sampson (which doesn’t make sense to me lol). Their reason was Uzan

But they all agree too 3 in big 12 and national title contender

i think his wording is very bad i just listened
but i get what he is trying to say

this team has the highest floor of any team under sampson, by a mile
the other teams could have been way worse, they just werent because of Sampson. We’ve started freshmen or players who did nothing the previous year, that on paper could have been bad but worked out, weve transfered leagues replacing 3 starters
the floor of this team is way higher

but from the full context, i think he has a fair gauge of the current team, “worst case is like 7th” which is fair, i just think he is misremembering the floors of previous teams

Yeah I forgot about the “worse case 7th”. Because my first thought was that 2022-2023 had a way lower floor.

the part i disagree with is the offense comments

they are projecting a worse offense than last year
i disagree with, last years offense wasnt that good, especially if you took away the turnnover points
i get that shead was the heart and sole of the offense last year, by reconfiguring the offensive dynamic could actually be a good thing
the half court offense last year wasnt that good
and the pace was bottom 10 nationally
i do not think the offense will be worse
from milos shooting, more dynamic lj and sharp, building on jwans end of the year dominance, actually having bench points
and better rebounding for offensive rebound points

Does he think Sampson took over for Guy Lewis right after a Final Four run?

What a weird thing to say.

We do that a lot. Rarely ask about specific players as well.

ok, I dont know how these pictures get here, but I was googling “university of houston basketball roster” and this is the google recommended images
