IIRC, this came from Thamel, who’s known to be pretty connected to Herman. It wasn’t an unsourced rumor.

Never heard that before; seems highly improbable.
And if Thamel was the only source, then I remain skeptical.
I put that on about the same level as the rumor that TCU and UH were being considered by the PAC-12 in terms of implausibility (the PAC in its heyday never considered R2 or religious schools, and no source covering either the PAC or UH reported such a thing; only a TCU homer on Twitter).
Herman wanting to go back to a school he had long since dissed seems just as far fetched.

With Herman’s dismal record at FAU, a new UH AD, and Mama Khator having to sign off, there is zero chance Herman comes back to UH.

I had heard from a trusted source or two that Herman’s people reached out but that we had zero interest and did not get back to them.

Andrew Luck just fired the Stanford head coach.
Apparently he was bullying several staffers in the athletic department, primarily women. The unibersity investigated and many people complained to Luck as well, so he let him go.
It also didn’t help that Taylor was underachieving.
