I think you’re right. That was a fun one.
I would say the dark ages began in 93 after Foster was ran off. Foster brought in some good players and had good teams.

not sure if I like this quote from Sampson. It will be used against him in recruiting and it may change how we recruit moving forward. May look at more portal guys. Elite Freshmrn want to start.
I’m not the least bit worried about that. Any player who would be scared off by that quote probably wouldn’t be a good fit anyway.
Besides, the fact is that he is starting 2 freshmen so he’ll clearly do it if they’re good enough.

I don’t blame him a bit. I think all he is saying is that he went against own script of getting caught too young.

Exactly. Saying he doesn’t want to do it doesn’t mean he won’t in the future. One of the biggest selling points about the program is that the staff is brutally honest with players and recruits. A potential freshman will know exactly what he needs to do to not only get playing time in this program but potentially start. As CKS says, the standards and the non-negotiables never change. Freshmen who are up to snuff to start in this program will start even if there are multiple of them.

Kelvin Sampson Radio Show is a good listen. It sounds like he was more joking about not wanting to start 2 Freshmen again.
He also said Kingston was the best player on the team in the first week of June.
Absurbed comment by ESPN. Is there any more of a maligned team than the Cougars? I mean we have beaten 3 top 25 teams and are 14-1! Give me a break on all this negativity by the media…

I don’t think that we’ve hit our stride either as of today Still spinning up 4 freshmen + Sakho. I like being the slight underdog and then blitzing through the tournament like the Germans through the Ardennes

I agree we have room for improvement… but every article always starts with the same emphasis… under the rader… something wrong… I mean we have lost 1 game by 3 pts to a ranked team. Any other team they would not downplay our season. We have nothing to be apologetic about and should be getting more respect.
And if you look at it… we have never beaten 3 ranked teams up to this point in the seaon under Sampson… not in the Big 12 and not in the AAC. We are off to a GREAT start.
No other top 10 team is getting the same BS treatment. I mean what is wrong with Duke, Purdue and Gonzaga? They have lost games and even been blown out in certain cases. I do not see that line with them.

What’s the deal on next Sunday’s game time vs. ASU? Just get it together and do your job ESPN, not that difficult.
This was the first time this season that I was not worried in the least when we got down early.
When I saw Baylor acting like they had slayed the King 5 minutes in, I told my buddy “it’s over and they don’t even know it”.
This team is going to be gnarly in March.

Yeah only things now we want to see is doing that consistently and hey just for grins let’s get the offensive efficiency up a bit
