Somebody using a leg scooter to get around
yep, looks like Jojo unfortunately
In my opinion, this likely has more to do with skillset—more specifically, size. Ramon and Terrance are bigger wings and better box-out threats. Ramon, in particular, played mostly at the 4. Your point about position would make more sense if we were only talking about individual stats. But the team actually rebounded better despite going smaller. Intuitively, team rebounding should have gotten worse with Ramon in—yet it improved. On the flip side, when Mylik replaced Jamal, you’d expect rebounding to improve—but it didn’t.
Terrance logged a ton of minutes at the 3, and Mylik also played some at the 3.
note Sharp himself and the coaching staff have acknowledged how poor his rebounding was. It wasn’t about his position—Sharp just isn’t a great rebounder. And realistically, he may never be, given his body type and athletic profile. Moving him to the 2 should help improve the team’s rebounding.
I still think Ramon is the better rebounder, even when you adjust for position.
Is Sharp using a scooter?
Edit: it is the one behind Sharp
Not that much to disagree with here, most of your points are backwards facing. I think the point I was trying to make was forward looking, once you incorporate improvements into Ramon’s mentality.
mylik was the better scorer, because he wasn’t afraid to take the shot… my implications was if Ramon was more aggressive he has better offensive bag.
sidenote i dont consider mylik a generational college defender… he actually under performed a lot last year to his potential… im not sure if you remember but VJ Edgecombe kept scoring on him at will… we had to switch mylik off him before the points stopped
What is wrong with JoJo??
Who said he was generational? He was a solid defender who could make the big plays.
VE was shutdown when they came here and made some shots in our second contest. Couldn’t care less about breaking it all down.
how long jojo is out, could really shape our season
out 1-2 month - maybe a good thing, give younger players some reps
out 2-4 months- wont miss the season, but we can probably not expect a major offensive jump from jojo that many of use are hoping for … its a critical offensive offseason for tugler
out 5months+ we are starting the season without jojo… most likely undersized with ramon probably starting at the 4
What happened to him?
the post i responded to called him generational
VE went 100% from the Field and FT… how is that shut down? 14pt 6rbs on 100% shooting is shutting him down?
but the 2nd game, mylik defended Edgecombe when mylik first subbed in… edgecombe immediately hits a 3 on him, draws a foul on him the next play for fts, and the next play
scored on him with ease on layup (all of this in a 1 minute game span)… sampson expeditiously switched mylik off Edgecombe
Hence why stats shouldn’t always be used as a barometer. We suffocated him 90% of the game.
But again going back and fourth 20X doesn’t interest me.
personal jabs… fun
Y’all keep arguing about Mylik he isn’t even on the damn team anymore, what happened to JoJo he has a cast on his leg!?
Wow ! Reading this thread is exhausting .
Ok so Duarte said surgery on his right foot in April, is that the one he broke a couple of years ago??
Bummer.
Glass half full view of it. If you’re gonna have injuries/surgeries. Better to take place during the offseason
Gives guys like Sakho, McFarland more 1st team reps. Cenac moved to the 4.
@banderacoogfan correct.
Injured his right foot his freshman yr also
I think that is a bit concerning for his future draft stock. 2 injuries to the same foot.
*Michael Porter Jr w/ the Nuggets, concerns about his back issues, caused him to fall some in the draft
