To get more press in NYC… There are some pretty good ballers that come out of that city.
Why play them at Toyota Center? It makes no sense.
Wow. Big game rematch against Florida!! Woo hoo bring it on!
(state)
It should of been against Florida as a rematch from the finals. That would of drawn close to a sellout (Toyota Center) early in the season.
It should be a Q1 win, assuming we win, by end of the season… right?
Arkansas would have half the fans if the game was played at Toyota Center. Arkansas always had good representation when the SWC Tournament was at The Summit, and even good representation at Hofheinz Pavillion.
Playing in New York City is big time. It spreads the UH brand in the Northeast and I am sure the team will be pumped up playing in a NBA arena.
I didn’t check on this but I think it’s because Florida State played at the Toyota Center last year or the year before. There might be round robin for the Toyota center to be completed for use of the Toyota Center. I think FSU might played A&M or Rice a year or two ago
What are we talking about here? Playing Arkansas in NYC or FSU at Toyota?
There is no reason to play FSU at Toyota. They are a team that can play us at Fertitta. Play a better opponent for a Toyota Center game. I heard Sampson say that we are playing off campus because teams don’t want to play us at Fertitta. Well, FSU should not be one of those teams.
CKS is trying. We have a nice schedule before a great Big 12 schedule. Really just looking forward to it and not interested in complaining.
FSU beat rice before our game with Auburn. It was pretty close for much of the game.
Thank you, yep FSU is familiar with the Toyota Center, I see why they agreed to play us. I like the draw
Looked over the rosters of our known opponents and feel pretty good.
Oakland, Lehigh and MTSU will hopefully be games we get to see the entire roster on the court.
FSU and Syracuse aren’t returning much and their additions don’t seem overwhelming.
Tennessee I am sure will have talent but they are losing everything from last season.
Arkansas has Thiero and Brazille and lose a lot, but they do have a talented class coming in that will help. The freshman guard will be really good in time.
Auburn is starting with Pettiford and nothing else from last season. He and Hall(UCF) give them a pretty potent 1-2 punch with enough defense and shooters can be really good. They also have a talented freshmen class.
Not to be too confident but I will go into every game feeling we have a real good chance of winning.
Syracuse is a sleeper.. they have a ton of fire power returning (2 all-conference calibur/former 5stars), a top 10 recruiting class and 1 high level transfer
imo if 1 freshmen breaks out, they could be a tournament team
FSU is terrible, they need every transfer to outperform what they did in the mid-majors but at the high-majors for them to be decent.
Tennessee roster defensively will be great … but likely 1 star shy from greatness … they have 4 notable players (#4 recruit, Marylands star pg, 2 monster defensive bigs)… then like 7 completely untouted players. They are one big addition from having a monster starting five. But I think they are very self-aware of that as they’ve thrown themselves at every major transfer/recruit for the last three to four weeks. If there is some kind of last minute miracle, especially from an overseas player they could be preseason top 15… zakai also has that lawsuit for eligibility
Arkansas is stacked on paper. They have five guards that are seen as breakout stars for next year. Then they have two notable bigs. Theyll be a preseason top 10/top 15 level team. But to me, they’re one of those high ceiling, very, very low floor teams. For all the talk about their roster, none of them are proven. They’re all either break out in the sense that they are 5star freshmen or they’re decent players last year that many think will take a big jump like Karter Knox, DJ Wagner, or Billy Richmond. But none of them from last year were that much of a game changer. They’re just projecting them to be that way next year.
Auburn is interesting in that they will make or break by efficiency. They have a lot of shot chunkers. If they can keep that shot chunking at decent percentages, I think they’ll be top15. But otherwise, they could really have a bad season if they’re just chunking up a lot of bad shots. Pettiford and Hall can put up a lot as many shots as you need them to lol The real story with them will be they’re high-risk, high-reward players. They have 2 recruits ranked around 50, two super-producing jucos, and one touted foreign player. All of them could be great, but then it’s a good percentage chance that they also flop. They likely need one or two of them to hit to really get back to their title contention hopes.
Just looked at the Big 12 rosters since most of the dusts has settled. Not many of them have me convinced.
I think we are the obvious preseason pick.
I think BYU has a chance to be good and that freshman could be special.
ISU has a tough starting 5 with experience but they may be pretty thin and not sure their ceiling is super high.
Cincinnati has a chance to grow into something nice with their backcourt and Thiam.
TT has Toppin then Anderson and a lot of unknowns.
Ariona is intriguing but still has some gaps to fill. They have the makings of a nice front line.
KU doesn’t wow me much but they may have an impact FR.
Decent teams may be OSU and KSU but they are all transfers
Unfortunately I think we have some true basement teams.

Wow! Those are some huge changes.
Officials will have the option to call a Flagrant 1 foul when a player is contacted to the groin. A Flagrant 1 foul results in two free throws for the offended team and possession of the ball. Previously, officials could only call a common foul or deem it a Flagrant 2 foul, in which the player receives an ejection, and the offended team receives two free throws and possession of the ball.
Is this because of theTech game. A Toppin rule?
