You say that now. If he leaves, you’ll be miserable. We all will
No one mourns the wicked.
You say that with so much certainty. Who knows where those guys end up, but I can almost guarantee we wouldn’t be their 1st choice.
There’s a lot of reactionary stupidity in this thread. A lot. Even for Coogfans.
Some of you need to get a grip.
Or, feel free to sell everything you own and give the $ to UH for the unnecessary and unearned Fritz extension.
It would all so funny, if only it was a joke.
CWF is 65 years old, happy where he is, and isnt going anywhere…He is rebuilding our program, and just getting started. His name isnt even mentioned in current coaching hunts.
Jeff Traylor went on an interview and trashed UTSA’s funding (again)
He should have left when he had the chance. Guarantee he’s out of there next opportunity he gets
This is a struggling coach making excuses. They’re not getting out-funded by Texas State and UNT and Temple.
It’s moreso that UT-Austin places a limit to how far UTSA can rise.
UTSA will never be a Power School because of UT-Austin, and they will never be able to logistically compete because UT-Austin has control of the system entirely
Memphis losing their coach. They are playing Tulane tomorrow. Would be pretty funny if news comes out Sumrall is leaving too

"Looking for the next Curt Cignetti?
- Willie Fritz (Houston head coach)"
Clicked on the link and read the entire article.
VERY comprehensive. Well researched, and well written.
It’s a “must read”….
Luke Fickell to stay at Whiskey for another year.
Don’t know how this happened, unless he had numerous photographs.
Probably has to do with his buyout.
Luke Fickell’s current contract with the University of Wisconsin extends through the 2031 season and includes annual extensions to maintain a seven-year term. His salary for the 2025-26 season is $7.7 million, with a $100,000 annual raise built in, and his buyout is approximately $27.5 million. This extension is standard procedure for the university to ensure stability for recruits and is not an indication of job security, as the upcoming season is still considered crucial for Fickell.
- Contract Length: The contract was extended through the 2031 season, with the standard practice of an annual one-year extension to maintain the seven-year term.
- Salary: Fickell’s salary for the 2025-26 season is $7.7 million, and it is scheduled to increase by $100,000 each season.
- Buyout: If Fickell were to be fired at the end of the 2025 season, the university would owe him approximately $27.5 million, which is 80% of his remaining contract.
- Purpose of Extension: The annual extension is a routine practice at Wisconsin to show recruits that the coach will be there for the duration of their time in school.
- Stability vs. Security: While the extension was given after a poor record, it is considered a standard stability measure rather than guaranteed job security if the team continues to underperform.
Traylor complained once again about USF having a payroll.
USF coach responds
Traylor won’t be at UTSA much longer
That’s fake news, btw. Check the username.
UTSA probably isn’t buying out Traylor any time soon.
Not seen in that press conference: any sort of denial that USF has more resources than UTSA
Fritz is 11-10 at UH in his 2nd season. He was 17-7 at Georgia Southern when Tulane took him after two seasons.
Sumlin was 35-17 when he went to A&M
Herman was 22-4 when Texas took him.
I’m less worried about Fritz leaving this year.
