2025 Houston Texans Season

Couldn’t readily locate last Texans thread, so I thought I’d start a new one for this season.

First news for this year: It’s possible that Tank plays this year.

Houston Texans don’t rule Tank Dell out for season yet

Houston Texans general manager Nick Caserio didn’t completely rule out Tank Dell for the season, saying if he was ready at some point this season, “then great.”

“If he’s not, he’s not,” Caserio said. “He’s in the building every day. He’s working really hard, but we’re not going to put a timetable on anything.”

I think the Texans will make the conference championship this year and that is a good step forward for them.

I think so, too.

Like UH, the big question for the Texans is whether a porous offensive line can show substantial improvement.

If so, they’re pretty solid–though I have some concern with Mixon being and staying healthy. I don’t think the Texans have provided much detail, but I know it’s a foot injury, which is concerning for a RB.

Texans will win their 1st round playoff game and lose in their next round.

Hope Tank can make it back this season…

Hope so too, but don’t think he will. That’s why they went out and got Christian Kirk.

It’s hard to believe Tank will be back this year, but if he comes back in 2026 and can contribute it will be a great story. One thing is certain, he will work hard to come back.

As for the Texans, I also think the o-line is going to be a big problem. It was terrible last year, and I’m not sure it’s going to be much better in 2025. If this team had a slightly above average offensive line they might be Super Bowl contenders.

The Carolina Panthers are having a joint practice against the Houston Texans today at the Texans Practice Facility, in advance of their preseason game on Saturday. QBs are untouchable during the practice, and wear a different color jersey to distinguish.

What color jersey is the Houston Texans QBs wearing? None other than Columbia Blue. Or is that Houston Blue?

You may think this picture in the Houston Chronicle is a UH practice but it is the Houston Texan QBs wearing UH alternative jerseys.

Just kidding, but it is the Texan QBs wearing Columbia Blue practice jerseys.

Metchie gone

Texans trade WR John Metchie to Eagles - NBC Sports

I have so much respect for Metchie. He tore his ACL in his final collegiate game at Alabama, got drafted by the Houston Texans, spent his entire rookie season battling leukemia. That he is playing football after all that gives me inspiration.

Good luck John Metchie.

I’m not in a position to watch Texan preseason games. If they can keep Stroud upright & comfortable, they’ll have a chance
