We had the “Number 1” transfer class a few years ago….

It does not take account which conference these players are coming from.
We’ll have to wait and see how it translates to Big 12 baseball.

Did we ever have a #1 ranked transfer class, because I remember we had a #1 ranked JUCO transfer class a few years back, but this is a little different. Let me know which other year we were ranked #1 for overall transfers (not JUCO specific) in case my memory is faulty. I’ll stand corrected on that if I’m wrong, but that’s how I remember it.
That said, yes, I agree that we don’t know how well many of these transfers will level up to Big 12 play given that many are from lesser conferences. But considering how gloomy this program has been for years now, I’m trying to look for any reason possible to be optimistic.

You are correct, it was JUCO….but I could easily argue it came in with way more hype than this transfer class.
That group were guys that put up numbers at high D-1 JUCO.
For those that don’t know….the top JUCO teams can take MANY D-1 teams out behind the woodshed and that’s with Freshman/Sophs only.

36 of our 40 from last year are gone. 38 new players with only 4 returners. A lot of new faces this year.

Those summer numbers really jump out, especially the 21 walks against only 21 strikeouts.
A .371 average with a 1.073 OPS is impressive on its own, but that kind of plate discipline makes the profile even more interesting. Cape Cod should be a great test for him against stronger pitching.
Definitely one to keep an eye on this summer.

That is a pretty encouraging summer line, especially the 21 walks against 21 strikeouts. The average and OPS jump out, but the plate discipline is probably the part I like most. If that holds against better pitching, there is something real to build on. I look at game numbers the same way, not just the flashy result. With Tropical Casino https://tropical-casino.com/ I’d rather compare a slot’s volatility, hit frequency and bonus mechanics than judge it from one big win screen. The Cape should be a great test too. If he holds his own there after barely playing in spring, he becomes a lot more interesting to follow.
Any numbers that are not from the Cape or Northwoods should be taken with a grain of salt.
